Owner

Carolyn Sellar is a renaissance woman in the whisky & spirits world. She is a well-known spirits writer, multi-certified national masterclass speaker, and a national whisky, spirits and cocktail competition judge. She is one of the first AAPI women to hold several titles and has been recognized for her accomplishments in building up the presence of women and minorities in the spirit world. Carolyn is also the owner of Adventures in Whisky & Spirits and Adventures in Cocktails which specialize in consulting services for marketing and spirit production. Carolyn is the founder of Adventures in Whisky and Adventures in Cocktails, which has produced hundreds of events in the Pacific Northwest including some of the biggest whisky and Spirit events in Washington. Along with whisky and spirits event production, Carolyn is also a consultant for branding and marketing for many spirit establishments and brands locally, nationally, and internationally.

Carolyn is a national whiskey judge for San Francisco Whiskies of the World competition, Sip Magazine, New Orleans Bourbon Festival, and she is the Head Judge for Seattle World Whisky Day, and World Whisky Day PNW whisky competition. She is also a judge for several national whisky, spirits, and cocktail competitions.

Carolyn is also a writer. She has many published articles on whisky, spirits, and cocktail culture in periodicals such as Seattle Refined, Wine & Whiskey Globe, and Sip Magazine. See all her writings here. 

Carolyn is an established whisky and spirits educator, and she is a highly regarded Masterclass speaker.  She has received designations from the Council of Whiskey Masters as Certified Scotch Professional, Certified Bourbon Professional, and Certified World Whisky Specialist.

Carolyn is the Whisky Sommelier of Seattle Whisky Club, founder of the Seattle Whisky Society, and COO of Women Who Whiskey Seattle.

Outside of the whiskey world, Carolyn is a multi-award winning environmental and animal conservationist and when she can find some time to relax you will find her with a dram in hand and in the great outdoors with her two amazing rescue dogs named Peat and Barley.
